Library Assistant 1 & Program Coordinator
Part time – Thursday 9-5 & Friday 11-7 – May be asked to fill in on other days
We are looking for a multi-tasker with an upbeat attitude. Candidates should enjoy working with children and the public; provide polite and professional assistance via phone, mail and e-mail; be proficient with computers and social media; and excel at both verbal and written communication.
Responsibilities :
Greeting and assisting patrons
Answering phone calls, photocopying, faxing
Managing inquiries over the counter, via email or by telephone
Organizing repair of damaged material
Registering new patrons
Processing payments and fines
Plan and lead children’s programs, virtual programs and events
Maintain overdue procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent computer, technology, and office equipment skills
Experience in a customer service role
Outstanding organizational skills
Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn
Library experience an asset
